I attended my first race in 1969 when I was 6 months old at the old rangeline speedway. I may not remember it but my mother told me I was there so it must be true.
My earliest memories of racing come from the Neillsville Fairgrounds were we would go every Saturday night. Around 1977 some friends of the my family decided to build the Yellow River Speedway in Marshfield. The whole family worked there. My dad and my uncle were pit stewards, my mom and sister worked the ticket gate and the consession stands and I worked the pit entry gate and various other jobs.
This story would be incomplete if didn't mention Central Wisconsin Speedway in Abbotsford. When I was kid the racing was held every Wednesday night. Now a days there's a four lane highway where the track once was but I still have many great memories.
